• Just as reaching India travelers can get around the country through various aerial, terrestrial and water routes.

  There are six types of tickets available, which are first, second and third class air-conditioned, first- and second-class sleeper, and air-conditioned chair.

  Special trains: * The Palace on wheels-It is a luxury train, which takes you to an excursion through the royal state of Rajashthan.
  * The Golden Chariot: It takes you through Karnatka and also has a stop at Goa.
  * The Deccan Odyssey: It takes you through Mumbai, with a stop at Goa.
  * The Fairy Queen: It is one of the oldest steam engine trains, which takes you from Delhi to Alwar, and back to Delhi.
  * The Darjeeling Himalayan Railways: It takes you from new Jalpaiguri to Darjeeling.

  Water transport: some ports have ferries running to and fro, like from Kolkata and Chennai to Port Blair in Andaman Islands, and from Kochi and Calicut to Lakwadeep Islands.   Road transport: Following modes can be used for road transport across the country:

• Bus: buses are available for both inter state and intra state commutation. Buses are available from deluxe to economy types, and are especially useful for traveling to places where there are no access through trains, like hill stations and mountains.
• Cabs: taxis can be hired from many taxi stands to travel within and also outside the states. Make sure you hire from the authorized taxi stands and agents.
• Hired cars: If one wants to drive o the Indian roads by themselves then they can hire cars from many dealers. Though driving in India is not recommended to travelers because of heavy traffic. However Driving in Goa is not that problematic due to less density of vehicles on the road.
• Own cars: If one wants to travel in India on one’s own car then required documents should be obtained from the Indian embassy of one’s country. One should also get an international driving permit.

Travelers are advised to avoid going to hill stations and remote villages in the monsoon season, as there are sometimes landslides on mountains, which may cut off the place from other places for some time, and there are lots of muddy roads in villages, which may be difficult to travel on in the monsoon season.
